Nine Inch Nails Singer Discovered On Mars
Disassociated Press

Both the rock world and the scientific community was stunned today, when recent images of the planet Mars were found which apparently display the distinctive likeness of Grammy-winning singer and producer Trent Reznor.

"I was just looking through the back catalog," says photo discoverer Jimmy Roswell, "and there he was--Trent himself."

Roswell, an extraterrestrial buff and member of the Mutual UFO Network was digging through NASA's back catalog of digitized images, searching for the notorious "Face On Mars", a Viking image discovered by Dr. Richard Hoagland which supposedly shows a human face rising from the planet's surface. But he got more than he bargained for.

NASA spokesman Dr. Don Cherry, in a press conference earlier this morning, gave the terse response "We don't know what this kid found. But it obviously isn't this Reznor guy."

When confronted with an actual image of Mr. Reznor, and the cleaned-up and processed version of the Viking image (above), Dr. Cherry said "Well, yeah. I mean, it looks like him. But this formation is a minimum of fifteen million years old. Mr. Reznor's what...in his early thirties?"

When directly asked about the image,
Mr. Reznor merely replied, "Well...it confirms a lot of
f**king suspicions, doesn't it?"

Meanwhile, another press conference was being held--this time by Nothing Records, Reznor's own record label, at which Reznor himself made an appearance.

"Trent loves the picture," said Nothing spokesman Marilyn Manson. "He's going to use it for the cover of his next album, Make The Pain Go Away, which will be out in stores sometime this summer."

When directly asked about the image, Mr. Reznor merely replied, "Well...it confirms a lot of f**king suspicions, doesn't it?" and stalked from the room. He denied giving any further comment.

Scientists are unsure as to how the alleged likeness was actually formed. One source has claimed that "Mare Reznorius", as some believe it should be called, was actually formed by a series of random volcanic explosions. There are, however, no volcanos near the anomaly.

There are no plans for any further investigation.
